At Dennis' Dogme garden

Our guest Speaker this week is Dennis Newson.

We gather at Dennis's 'Dogme garden' to brainstorm your Transmedia Storytelling lesson in Kitely using the 'Dogme' approach which was first inspired by linguist and author Scott Thornbury.

Some of the ideas put forward during our discussion are to bring Virtual World affordances to your classes even through screen sharing options, to teleport to various destinations suggested here for inspiration and to select which story or scenes you can bring to life in-world, with the help of this Organiser (Links to an external site.)

Interactivity, scaffolded conversation, and learner engagement are only part of the ten key principles of the 'Dogme ELT' communicative approach to language teaching. Optimising learning affordances is the teacher's primary goal, as we have done in the Dogme garden while discussing how to overcome anticipated obstacles in your teaching contexts.

Here are some of Dennis' slides on 'Dogme ELT' which are also available in the 'Dogme garden' on EduNation, for those who need further background information.
