EuroCALL, the European Association for Computer Assisted Language Learning, is a community of researchers, developers and practitioners who share a passion for languages and the use of technologies in language teaching and learning.

EuroCALL was established in 1993 and its Special Interest Group (SIG) in Virtual Worlds was created in 2009, following discussions between Graham Davies (EUROCALL), Randall Sadler (CALICO) and Thom Thibeault (CALICO).The EUROCALL/CALICOL Virtual Worlds Special Interest Group (VW SIG) has more recently widened to include Serious Games and it is now known as the Virtual Worlds and Serious Games SIG.

EUROCALL and CALICO now share a joint EUROCALL/CALICO Headquarters on EduNation III Island in Second Life.
